WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT KNEE SPRAIN.
Posted By: Unknown - 04:57A common knee injury among athletes, a knee sprain occurs when a ligament within the knee is stretched or torn. Knee sprain risk is especially high during activities that involve weight-bearing while bending or twisting such as soccer.
Knee ligaments are tough, pliable bands of soft tissue that surround and run through the knee joint to connect the femur (thighbone) and tibia (shin bone). This interconnection is essential to balance and mobility.

A knee sprain is diagnosed and treated according to which ligament has been affected and the severity of the injuryKnee Ligaments That Can Be Sprained
The four main ligaments of the knee are the:
- Posterior cruciate ligament (PCL)
- Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)
- Medial collateral ligament (MCL)
- Lateral collateral ligament (LCL)
Knee Sprain Grading
Knee sprains can range greatly in severity, and are usually graded according to the following scale.- Grade I. These sprains involve only a small amount
of stretching or fraying of the ligament’s fibers. The person may
experience mild swelling, pain, or bruising, but can still put weight on
the affected leg. On average, grade I sprains require the least amount
of time to heal.1
Grade II. A grade II sprain classification means that the injured ligament is partially torn. If weight is put on the affected leg, the knee may feel unstable and painful.
Grade III. The most severe sprain classification, a grade III sprain involves a complete tear of a ligament. In some cases, the ligament may separate from the bone. Swelling and bruising may be severe and it may be difficult or impossible to put weight on the affected leg.

WE DESERVED A WIN - MEDEAMA COACH PRINCE OWUSU.
Posted By: Unknown - 02:52Medeama coach Prince Owusu says his side’s 1-1 draw at Tanzanian club Young Africans did not tell the whole story.
Owusu believes the chances his team stacked up gave the points shared a deceptive appearance.
Yanga shot into an early lead through Donald Ngoma Dombo but Bernard Ofori leveled for the Mauve and Yellows before half time.
Medeama looked lively afterwards and created chances but lacked the killer instinct to turn possession into penetration.
“We came for the win but we had a draw, it is a good result. If you look at the way we played you will realize that we came for the win,” Owusu said.
"We had chances which we could have scored, and even in the last minute we had a good chance to get a second goal but we couldn’t score.
"We have to go back and prepare for the return leg."

MANUEL ZACHARIAS BLASTS KOTOKO TECHNICAL HANDLERS.
Posted By: Unknown - 02:50Bechem United coach Manuel Zacharias has blasted Asante Kotoko coach Michael Osei saying the Porcupine Warriors are technically bankrupt.
The Brong Ahafo club drew 0-0 with Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday in the Ghana Premier League.
With Wa All Stars losing at WAFA, a win for Kotoko would have made them leaders of the league.
In a post match interview with the media, Zacharias said Kotoko have got quality players but the coach is technically inept to make them an invincible side.
"I will give you one answer and it's very simple, if I’m the coach of Kotoko, I will change many things in Kotoko because Kotoko has good players. But coach is coach, philosophy is philosophy,” Zacharias told the press.
"Kotoko with another system can be champion. They have everything to be champion."
