According to Sarkodie, it took him 24 months,
2 years to finish working on the album which is
named after her late grand mother. The album
is titled Mary – sounds to me as the name of
his late granny.
Sarkodie also added that, the album has only
live instrumentals produced by one of the
talented artistes in Ghana, Gladstorm
Akwaboah.

Took me 2 years to record this Album * Mary *
…. Didn’t tweet or talk about it cos I needed
Time, patience and a sound mind to
record #NoPressure . Thank God I finally
wrapped up. Mary is named after my late
GrandMa who always wanted me to record live
music but couldn’t live to see me do it… may
her soul rest in peace. All instruments on this
album was recorded Live!!! Thanks to the
genius Akwaboah who worked on this project
with me… As an artist it is very important to
challenge yourself and I’m proud I did .. I
know my fans will love this project and
appreciate it due the amount work and effort
that went into it… documented the whole studio
sessions and promise to share with yall!!! God
