ROCKY DAWUNI SET FOR NEW YORK CONCERT ON JANUARY 9

Ghanaian Reggae act , Rocky Dawuni, will on
January 9 , play a special concert in New York.
A Cumbancha /Mundial Montreal showcase event
to be held at the DROM, will feature many other
exceptional international talents (Daby Toure /
Mauritania , Odessa /Havana , Elizabeth
Shepherd , Aurelio , Boogat , Nation Beat ’s
Carnival Caravan , Nomadic Massive ) .
Influenced by the soulful beats of Fela Kuti , the
positive messages of Bob Marley and the
infectious , sing -along anthems of Michael
Franti , K ’naan and Matisyahu , Dawuni's songs
straddle the musical boundaries between Africa,
the Caribbean and the US to create a universally
appealing sound that unites generations and
cultures.
His sixth album , Branches of the Same Tree , will
be released in March 2015.
The video for the first single from the new
album “African Thriller” has been circling the
globe and creating much heat .
