Sports Minister Mahama Ayariga has been
removed from office and is set to be
reassigned to the Ministry of Environment,
Science and Technology,
DailySoccerGhana.com sources have
revealed.
Reports say the Bawku Central MP’s failure to
provide a proper budgetary breakdown for
the Black Stars expenditure at the 2015
Africa Cup of Nations in Parliament and his
attack on the media lately influence his
removal from office.
Sources within the Flag Staff House claim
former Local Government and Rural
Development Minister, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo
is set to take over at the Sports Ministry.
Ayariga is on a visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia,
where he met his Royal Highness Prince
Abdullah Bin Mossad Bin Abdulaziz, the
President of Youth of the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia.
Mahama Ayariga replaced Elvis Afriyie Ankrah
as the Sports Ministry shortly after the Black
Stars outing at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil,
which led to the formation of the Justice
Dzamefe Commission of Inquiry.
