The National Paralympic Committee (NPC), Ghana,
has saved the Ghana Amputee Football Association
(GAFA), from expulsion from the World Amputee
Football Federation (WAFF), for non-payment of
affiliation fees.
GAFA was expected to pay its 2015 affiliation fee
by close of work on Monday, March 2, but the
association failed to raise the required funds to
save their membership.
Information gathered by the GNA Sports reveals
that, the NPC, the mother body that coordinates
activities of disable sports in Ghana, had to raise
650 dollars to meet the deadline.
But for the intervention of the NPC, GAFA will
have forfeit its participation in the 2017 WAFF
World Cup and other activities.
Ignatius Elletey, General Secretary of NPC, told
the GNA Sports, GAFA is now cleared to
participate in qualifiers for continental competition
and the amputee world cup.
