Dr Abraham Boakye, otherwise known as One Man Supporter, has appealed to the President, John Ibrahim Mahama, to intervene on his behalf to claim some outstanding debts owed him by the Ghana Football Association.

According to him since 2008 when he “single-handedly managed to secure a Glo sponsorship contract agreement for the GFA to the tune of $24 million”, the FA has refused to pay him his side of the bargain.

In a signed petition to the President dated January 12, 2016, Dr Boakye, who is also the president of the Ghana National Supporters Union (GHANSU), explained that $15 million of the $24 million was for the sponsorship of the Premier League for five years and the remaining $9 million was for the Black Stars sponsorship for the same duration.

Apart from these packages, which he claimed he helped the FA to secure and described as unprecedented in the FA’s sponsorship deals, One Man Supporter said he also had earlier secured a sum of GH¢100,000.00 “meant for the Top 4”.
He lamented that: “Per the GFA laid down rules at the time, I was entitled to 15% of the $9 million and another 10 per cent of the $15 million ...And till date, not even a single pesewa has been paid me though the records show such money has been paid”.

Dr Boakye alleged that the petition to His Excellency the President had become necessary because even though the matter went to court, it “has since not seen the light of day”.
