English Premier League side Swansea have made Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah their No 1 summer.
They hope to pull off a coup by landing the 25-year-old on a free from French side Evian ahead of Premier League rivals.
Mensah has four months left on his contract and can speak to other clubs.
He has been with Evian since 2011 and the Swans have been scouting him regularly — along with other top-flight teams.
The powerful defender, a former player of AshantiGold, will join his compatriot Andre Ayew at the Wales club if he manages to seal the switch
