Deputy Communications director of Medeama SC Patrick Akoto has confirmed high ranking members of club have settled the dispute between head Coach Tom Strand and technical director Augustine Adotey.
The two men have been at loggerheads after it emerged technical director Augustine Adotey interfered with the duties of the head Coach Tom Strand in their 2-2 draw game against Kotoko last Sunday.
The issue gained national interest since it highlighted the internal wrangling in the club ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup tie against Al Ittihad of Libya this weekend.
Medeama have struggled to replicate the form that won them the MTN FA Cup last season in the first three games of the Ghana Premier League season, but Patrick Akoto says the team is well oiled to respond on Sunday.
“That issue has been dealt by management of the club because it marred our hard earned reputation,” Akoto told Accra based CITI-FM
“Management had a meeting and the issue has been put to bed.”
“Both men have settled their difference it’s just unfortunate that Augustine Adotey will not be in Libya with us because he is with the female U-17 in Morocco.”
“So it will be just Strand and his back room staff who will travel to Tunis tonight.”
Medeama are hoping to go a better run in the Confed Cup than they did in 2013. They were eliminated in the last qualifying round by AC Leopards of Congo Brazzaville.
