Officials of NACOB were on Monday evening
engaged in a scuffle with the family of
Nayele Ametefe, the lady at the centre of the
12.5kg cocaine bust, StarrFMonline.com has
gathered.
The NACOB officials, according to our sources
had gone to the East-Legon residence of the
suspect in Accra to post a court order warning
the family against any attempt to sell any of
her properties or change ownership while her
trial is ongoing.
The mother of Ruby Appiah as Nayele is also
known, is heard on a tape recording
preventing the NACOB officials from posting
the notice on the property.
She is also alleged to have assaulted an
official of the state security agency.
The pink painted five-bedroom apartment is
believed to be one of the numerous properties
of Miss Ametefe scattered in Accra.
Meanwhile, the Isleworth Crown Court in the
UK will decide the fate of Ametefe today
after the trial was postponed yesterday,
Monday January 5.
The 32-year-old is believed to have used the
VVIP Lounge of Ghana’s only international
airport – Kotoka – in the capital Accra to
smuggle the prohibited substance outside the
shores of the West African country via a
British Airways flight.
According to preliminary investigations, she
was aided by three Ghanaian security and
foreign affairs officials who are also
standing trial in Ghana.
