Former Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Laryea
Kingston says he is open to returning to the club
for a third stint, but this time in a coaching
capacity although he insists he has not yet ended
his playing career.
In an interview with the Graphic Sports last
Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium, Kingston
said he possessed the intelligence required to
coach football at the highest level.
"Yeah sure, with the intelligence and everything
that I have for the game why not? Because most
of the young players will look up to me, if I am
around the team it will help," said Kingston in
response to whether he would like to take up an
assistant coach role with the Phobians.
The former Heart of Midlothian midfielder also
disclosed that he was hopeful of making a
sensational return to the Black Stars set-up once
he signed for a new club and returned to
competitive action.
"I took a break from football but I have not
announced my retirement. I can still come back and
play,” added the 34-year-old Kingston.
"The Ghanaian transfer window is closed, so I can't
tell if I will be playing for a local side. When I am
fit and I start playing actively, if a Black Stars
call-up comes I will honour it," he added.
In a reaction to the recent struggles of Hearts in
this year's league, Kingston said as a fan of the
club he was worried about the developments,
advising the club's management to put the right
structures in place in order to halt the downward
trend.
