Southampton and Kenya midfielder Victor Wanyama is reportedly stranded in Morocco ahead of the Harambee Stars’ 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Guinea-Bissau, according to SuperSport.
The Kenyan national team captain arrived safely in Rabat on Monday night, but failed to board a connecting flight to Guinea-Bissau.
“It's true we spoke in the morning and he confirmed he spent the night in Morocco because he could not get a connecting flight to Guinea-Bissau as per his flight booking,” SuperSport quote a source.
"Wanyama has been told the only connecting flight to Guinea Bissau will be available on Wednesday which is the match day. He is contemplating going back to London instead.”
Kenya’s Football Federation booked business class tickets for foreign-based players who were to link up with the rest of the team in Guinea-Bissau on Monday.
Wanyama is an integral part of the Harambee Stars squad and his absence would be a huge blow to their chances for the Group E match in Bissau tomorrow.
