Former Asante Kotoko goalkeepers’ trainer Joe Carr is blaming the current crop of players for the team’s unimpressive start to the season.
The Porcupine Warriors have managed just one win in five league matches and suffered two defeats already.
Last Sunday, they laboured to beat lower-division side AK Shion 4-1 on penalties after drawing 1-1 in regulation time.
Kotoko were active on the transfer market and signed a dozen of players to augment their squad but that is yet to pay off.
Head coach David Duncan and the management team have come under pressure for the team’s stale look.
But Carr, a club legend, has pointed accusing fingers at the playing body.
“I will never blame the management of the club as well as the technical team. I blame the players for the club’s poor performance,’’ Carr told Kumasi-base Hello FM.
"The management and the technical team signed the best players, so it is up to the players to perform.
"We have all played the team before. During our time we talked to ourselves when we lose a game. The next moment you see us winning, so these players what have they been doing?."
